[Cause]
The threshold for detecting panel contact is below the expected value. There are two possible causes.
1. The gun electrode tip had already contacted the workpiece before search motion began.
2. Gun axis speed is unstable during search motion.
[Countermeasure]
1. If the panel and movable electrode tip are touching at the search start position, increase the movable-side start position electrode tip distance (SD). If the panel and fixed welding tip are touching, increase the fixed-side start position welding tip distance (SD); if workpiece lower surface detection distance is enabled, increase it. For workpiece lower surface detection distance settings, refer to Lower Panel Detection Distance Clamp (workpiece lower surface detection distance) or SPTCH_RSD Instruction (SPTCH_RSD instruction) under Spot Program Touchup Function in Servo Gun Function OPERATOR'S MANUAL. Execute spot program position correction again.
2. Enable the gun axis speed deviation reduction function. Open the system variables screen as follows.
1. Press MENU and select [0:Next page], [6:System].
2. Press F1[Type] and select system variables from the list. Change the following system variable. Set $SGGUN#.$TEACH.$AVGENB4UPDT to TRUE. (# is the gun number. For gun 1, use SGGUN1.) Execute position correction again. If the alarm still occurs after this countermeasure, change $SGGUN#.$TEACH.$NMMAVG4UPDT (standard value: 3). Increase this system variable by 1 and execute position correction again. Increase it until the alarm no longer occurs.
Note: Always increase by 1 each time and try position correction. If the alarm still occurs when $NMMAVG4UPDT exceeds 10, the gun may be abnormal. Acquire diagnostic data as follows. If the problem continues after these countermeasures, take the following countermeasures:
1. Acquire diagnostic data for this condition. The diagnostic data acquisition procedure is described under Troubleshooting in Spot Program Touchup Function in Servo Gun Function OPERATOR’S MANUAL.
2. After this alarm occurs, before performing other operations (power-off or jogging), use the abnormal-state recording function (Abnormal state record in the auxiliary menu) to obtain an image backup and contact the service center. If abnormal-state recording cannot be used, record the conditions and operating steps leading up to the alarm, obtain an image backup and contact the service center.
