8542
Category: Alarm
Cause
- Incorrect encoder wiring or poor contact
- Different encoder cable specifications cause susceptibility to noise interference
- Excessive encoder cable wiring distance causes susceptibility to noise interference
- FG potential fluctuates due to motor-side equipment such as welding machines
- Excessive vibration or shock applied to the encoder
- Encoder fault
- Servo unit fault
Corrective action
- Check the encoder wiring for problems;
- Change the cable to twisted pair or overall-shielded twisted pair with tinned annealed copper stranded conductors of at least 0.12mm2.
- The maximum wiring distance is 50m.
- Check the encoder cable and connection port condition; ground the machine to prevent current diversion to encoder-side FG.
- Check operating conditions; reduce mechanical vibration or install the servo motor correctly.
- Turn on power again. If the alarm persists, the servo motor may be faulty. Replace the servo motor.
- Turn on power again. If the alarm persists, the servo unit may be faulty. Replace the servo unit.
