Category: Alarm
Cause
Conditions:
- The encoder cable is damaged (externally or internally).
- The battery supply has momentarily lost power (because battery capacity is limited, an original Delta battery is recommended).
- Absolute motor abnormality.
- When a battery box is used, J1 and J2 are connected in reverse.
- Battery voltage is below 2.9V. Causes:
- Damage to the encoder cable causes an unstable power supply.
- Momentary power interruption may result from a loose battery box connector or excessive machine vibration.
- The motor absolute encoder is abnormal.
- Reversing J1 and J2 prevents the battery from charging the capacitor. The capacitor provides a buffer while switching to battery power at the instant the drive loses power.
Corrective action
- Confirm that absolute origin coordinates have been established (see section 10.3.1 for details).
- Avoid replacing the battery while the drive is powered off. Replace it while the drive is powered on so that the absolute encoder retains a continuous power supply.
- Reestablish the absolute origin coordinates.
- Replace the encoder cable. Internal cable damage is difficult to identify and requires X-ray inspection.
- Check whether the cable is loose. If not, replace the battery box for a comparison test.
- Replace the motor.
- Confirm that J1 in the battery box connects to the battery and J2 to the drive. Clears automatically after the absolute origin coordinates are established.
