Cause

1. The home offset is outside the soft limits.
2. The home offset is outside the rotary mode upper and lower limits.

Corrective action

1. When the encoder operates in incremental mode, absolute linear mode, or single-turn absolute mode, the home offset is outside the soft limits. Set the home offset within the soft limits.
2. When the encoder operates in rotary mode, the home offset is outside the mechanical single-turn upper and lower limits. Set the home offset within those limits.
