Cause

1. The encoder cable is pinched or its jacket is damaged, causing interference on the signal wires
2. The encoder cable is bundled with high-current cables or is too close to them
3. FG potential fluctuates due to motor-side equipment such as welding machines

Corrective action

1. Check the encoder cable and connection port condition; check the encoder cable routing for problems.
2. Check the encoder cable installation; route it where it will not be exposed to surge voltage.
3. Check the encoder cable installation; ground the machine to prevent current diversion to encoder-side FG.
