Cause

1. The motor is running, causing absolute external encoder home position setting to fail.
2. External encoder fault

Corrective action

1. Before setting the home position, use the fully closed-loop feedback pulse counter monitor (Un00E) to confirm that the motor is not running. Keep the motor stationary while setting the home position.
2. Replace the external encoder.
